Ragna Winniewski
Ragna Winniewski is a research associate at the Husserl Archive at the University of Cologne, working on the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded project “Italienische Phänomenologie: Rezeptionen, Konstellationen und Fluchtpunkte der Phänomenologie in Italien, von Banfi bis heute” (ItaPhen) She earned her PhD jointly from the University of Cologne and Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. Her research project develops a phenomenology of the bodily senses, focusing on interbodily phenomena such as synaesthesia, kinaesthesia, and atmosphere as foundational concepts for theories of embodied cognition, personhood, and shared practices in dementia care. As an interdisciplinary philosopher with a strong research background in phenomenology and medical humanities she has taught seminars on normative perspectives on health, illness, resilience, and well-being. Her broader research interests include theories of perception and personhood across phenomenology, anthropology, and psychopathology, as well as the ethical implications of different approaches to care.
She is co-founder of the “Transdisciplinary Network in Phenomenology of Dementia and Ageing” and the research group “New Medical Humanities Cologne” co-organising lecture series, workshops, and seminars since 2020.
