I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at Boston College. I specialize in Continental Philosophy (especially phenomenology and post-structuralism) and Social and Political Philosophy (especially Hannah Arendt and political violence). Additionally, I serve as the Assistant Editor of the International Journal of Social Imaginaries. Outside of strict academic work, I am committed to making philosophy accessible to the public. I am a co-founder of a Hong Kong-based organization focused on public philosophy called Corrupt the Youth (好青年荼毒室). I have also been a co-host of a weekly Cantonese TV program on Radio Television Hong Kong called Philosophy Night and have published articles in newspapers and magazines to reach a broader audience.
Research Project
The phenomenology of sociality: a Husserlian perspective
This project develops an account of the phenomenology of sociality from a Husserlian perspective. It traces the development of Husserl's reflection on personhood and the social-cultural world, systematically reconstructs the static and genetic methods, and forges a transcendental phenomenology of sociality that accounts for the eidetic structure and genesis of social experiences. It concludes that, pace Schutz, transcendental phenomenology offers fundamental insights into social experiences and phenomena.
